The old Bayfront Park Playground and splash pad had been under construction for a very long time- but this summer we will have a splash park in Sarasota for the first time in years! This is SO exciting! The City of Sarasota Park and Rec unveiled the new playground and splash pad on yesterday, February 1st. We stopped by to check out the new space, and I wanted to share some photos with our readers.
There are sea life sculptures for kids to climb throughout the park. The octopus being the most notable.
The underwater theme continues to different free play climbing structures. Kids can race to one obstacle course-like structure to the next.
There was also an interactive music play area. Imagine playing music and looking out at that gorgeous view of the Sarasota Bay!
And, of course this would not be complete without a photo of the splash pad! The water flow can be controlled by visitors. There is plenty of seating around the splash pad and picnic tables nearby for extra seating.
