From Holding the Edge of the Pool to Confident Swimming

A Local Mom's Experience at Aqua-Tots Sarasota

By Brittany Alessio January 15, 2023

My oldest went from wearing a life jacket while on a raft holding the edge of her grandmother's pool to walking confidently into swim lessons with a smile. My two daughters, ages 5 and 7, attend weekly classes with Aqua-Tots. They are excited to go back each week. We talk about their goals as we drive to Aqua-Tots to kick harder, hold their breath for 5 seconds, or float longer.

The swim instructors are all kind and patient and meet my girls exactly where they are. The importance of small classes, up to 4 students per instructor, provides my daughters with focus and sufficient time to practice. After each lesson, their instructor walks them out to give me a full report on what they achieved and helpful corrections. I can access their progress reports with ease on their app. If I have a sick child or life has me struggling I can go on the app and cancel my lesson for the day and book a make-up lesson for a future date.

The environment is comfortable with plenty of seating and tables for us busy parents to finish a work email or help another child complete their school work. The changing rooms are spacious with changing tables for the little ones and a larger room for multiple children, and no worries if you forgot your hairbrush or detangling spray, Auqa-Tots have your back. Watching my daughters progress each week has put my mind at ease that this summer will be full of laughs and confidence. I can't wait to see my girls ring the bell once they succeed at their current level.
