AT HOME-

  • Supervise children in the bathtub at all times
  • Ensure all toilet lids are closed or locked
  • Empty all water from standing containers
  • Install pool fences and self-latching gates around backyard pools

OPEN WATER-

  • Wear a life jacket
  • Enter the water feet first
  • Check the weather forecast, water conditions, and currents

IN THE POOL-

  • An adult or designated Water Watcher should be present at all times when children are in and around water
  • The more eyes the merrier! Even strong swimmers should swim with a friend
  • Prohibit rough play in and around the water
  • Pool toys are enticing! Avoid unnecessary distraction by keeping them put away when not in use
