Win 2 Free Registrations to the 10th Annual Superhero 5K/10K

A Foster Care Awareness Race at Nathan Benderson Park February 20

February 3, 2021

The 10th Annual Superhero 5K/10K and 1 Mile Fun Run is a Foster Care Awareness Race that is fun for the whole family!  The 5K course is chip-timed and USATF certified (out and back) at beautiful Nathan Benderson Park. The 10K is also a chip-timed out and back. Custom dye cast medals are awarded three deep in each age group, male and female. Ribbons are awarded for 4th-6th place. Kids' age group categories for the 5K are 9 years and under, 10-12 years, 13-15 years, 16-19 years.  Not sure your kiddo can handle a 5K? Sign him or her up for the 1 mile Fun Run, which includes a Superhero cape! Plus the Superhero has prizes for Best Superhero Family, Largest Team, Best Superhero Pet, and so much more!  Registration includes a shirt and post race breakfast. Bring the whole family and enjoy food, music, a kiddie zone, giveaways, and a chance to win our big raffle prize of the day - a $100 gift card to New Balance!  To register, or to learn more, go HERE.

There are typically between 1,100-1,500 children in our local foster care system (Sarasota, Manatee and DeSoto counties).  Bridge a Life recognizes that not everyone is called to be a foster parent, but everyone can do something to help our community's vulnerable children.  They use a family-friendly Superhero-themed running event to bring local child welfare organizations to one location, to raise awareness of children's needs and help concerned community members gather information so they can make an informed next step about how to help.

Event Details:

Saturday, February 20 (7:20-7:30 rolling start 10K, 8:30AM Fun Run, 9-9:10AM rolling start 5K) at Nathan Benderson Park.  Wear your favorite superhero costume (not required)!  Get more information and register HERE.

Macaroni Kid subscribers get a SPECIAL DISCOUNT!  Use code MACSRQ and get $5 off any of the three races!  This code is valid through February 11, 2021, which is also the last day to register and receive a shirt.

COVID Considerations:

Your bib will be chipped, giving you an official start time as soon as you cross the mat. There is no advantage to starting first and we highly discourage any bunching or jostling for position. We are counting on you to socially distance and help us create a safe race atmosphere! It is very important that you begin the race within the 10 minute allotted window.
