MKSV Goes to Arendelle at Disney on Ice Presents Frozen!

By Jaime Helton September 30, 2017

Do your little ones LOVE Frozen?

Then Disney on Ice presents Frozen is a must for your family! The production transforms Amalie Arena into the beautiful and magical kingdom of Arendelle and brings all of your favorite characters from Frozen along for an adventure.

My family received tickets to check out Disney on Ice presents Frozen on opening night. It did not disappoint! The show opens with the main mouse himself Mickey Mouse, along with Goofy, Donald Duck, and Minnie Mouse, teaching the audience about the magic and power of true love. They were then joined by favorite Disney friends and couples like Rapunzel and Flynn, Timon and Pumba, Snow White and Prince Charming, Buzz Lightyear and Woody, and MORE. With each new character appearing my son let out an audible gasp or squeal of excitement!

Next up was Disney’s Frozen. Disney on Ice tells the entire story of Frozen. This is no easy feat considering the amount of characters and set changes, but Disney on Ice pulls it off. The story stays true to the movie - including Anna and Elsa as children, Anna’s journey up the mountain with Kristoff and Sven, Elsa’s ice palace, and Anna and Elsa’s return to Arendelle.

The show is a blast. The set changes and special effects are particularly impressive as they definitely help transport you to various places in the story. Plus, it’s quite an experience to sit in an arena full of tiny Annas and Elsas singing “Let It Go” at the top of their lungs. My personal favorite moments in Disney on Ice presents Frozen? The scenes with the trolls because...seriously, how did they make the rocks roll on the ice? The appearance of Marshmallow, Elsa’s ice monster, was also pretty great. He was huge and just scary enough without being an issue for the children. Seeing him appear and move around the ice was definitely a highlight.

Truth be told, as a parent you might end up watching your child’s face as much as the show itself. My 5 year old’s reactions ranged from gleeful to awestruck. There were even more than a few “woohoos” thrown in for good measure.
