We are so excited to invite you to volunteer as an Aquarium Guide at our brand new facility, Mote Science Education Aquarium (Mote SEA)! Located at University Town Center, Mote SEA is home to state-of-the-art exhibits showcasing local marine life, as well as species from oceans around the world. Although Mote SEA is located about 13 miles inland from our waterfront marine research laboratory on City Island, Mote research is still our focus. Mote SEA Guides connect guests to our research by interpreting exhibits, facilitating touch exhibit interactions, and sharing their passion for the conservation of the marine environment.
Requirements:
- 15+ years of age
- Weekly regularly scheduled 4 hour shift; minimum commitment of 100 hours per year
- Passion for marine science, animals, and ocean habitats
- Ability to interact with aquarium visitors with patience and enthusiasm
- Completion of online orientation and in-person training
