Stop By Cafe in the Park

By Jaime Helton December 7, 2016
Can I tell you about one of my favorite lunch spots in Sarasota? After a hard day of playing (or kid wrangling) at the Circus Playground at Payne Park, Cafe in the Park is a welcomed retreat!

Cafe in the Park has fresh, healthy, delicious offerings. They place a strong emphasis on items that are locally sourced and, when possible, organic. Their menu features an assortment of sandwiches, salads, coffees, and teas. The commitment to quality at Cafe in the Park is evident in fresh baked baguettes, herbs harvested from their own gardens, and hand picked produce. Some of my favorites on their menu include the Payne Park Cuban, featuring pork that has been marinated for two days, and The Zoe - prosciutto and goat cheese sprinkled with pine nuts, covered with local orange-blossom honey and served on a toasted baguette. For kids there’s even a create-your-own lunchbox. You select the sandwich, side, and drink. It’s then neatly packaged up with a toy for your little one to enjoy while you’re devouring the delectable sandwich of your choosing.

In addition to being a fantastic lunch spot, Cafe in the Park hosts meetings, birthday parties, and events. I recently had a gathering for my son’s first birthday there, and it was perfect! Cafe in the Park also features live music on Friday evenings, and it’s been known to host a pop up restaurant now and then!

Stop by to treat yourself after your little ones get their sillies out on the playground! Or, if you’re really lucky, go on your own and savor each bite.

Cafe in the Park is open seven days a week 11AM to 6PM (9:30PM on Fridays). It is located at 2010 Adams Lane, Sarasota, 34237. Be sure to visit their website at http://www.cafeinthepark.org/
