…But have you heard about how awesome the Sarasota Youth Opera is?

The Sarasota Youth Opera provides the opportunity for children ages 8 to 18 years old to be involved in all things opera – singing, costumes, lighting, sound, and more. Established in 1984, the Sarasota Youth Opera has given thousands of young people the unique experience of performing with a program that has a commitment to annually producing operas specifically created for youth voices. Young people can be involved with the Sarasota Youth Opera in a variety of ways. Those children that wish to participate in opera can take part in after-school choruses, mainstage performances, summer camps, and youth productions. What makes the Sarasota Youth Opera even better? The program accepts all children regardless of skill level or ability to pay. The only requirement is a fascination with the world of opera.

This is a great year for your child to be involved in the Sarasota Youth Opera! This fall the Sarasota Youth Opera will feature The Secret World of Og by Dean Burry. Adapted from a popular Canadian children’s book, this will be the national premiere of the youth opera. Composer Dean Burry will even travel to Sarasota for the production!
