Renaissance School of Art is entering the 5th year of providing fun and educational programs for kids of school age in Sarasota. Painting and drawing classes introduce kids to various mediums and painting styles. Classes are taught by experienced instructors all year round. All our teachers are award winning artists and experienced visual art instructors. We developed our own curriculum which includes all basic principles of drawing and painting. Kids will learn to draw and paint from observation while having fun. They will also learn to work with reference materials and their own imagination. While many of the projects are guided, each student works with his or her own vision and produces a unique finished piece.

Children’s Fine Art expressions is a fun after school art class for the budding artists of elementary grades. It is an all-inclusive exploration into the arts of different mediums. Each class will present proper skills and techniques to enhance your child’s inner creative self as they learn to see and express themselves with the artist’s eye. Children will be exploring mixing different modalities and skills for a range of finished artistic effects. Offered: Mondays at 5pm.

Mastering Fine Art, a fine art after school class, is intended for young artists who are looking to learn fundamental drawing and painting concepts and build confidence in their skills. Projects are geared towards developing skills within each theme, while also encouraging individual creativity and expression. While many of the projects are guided, each student works with his own vision and produces a unique finished piece. Offered: Mondays Age 5-10 at 4pm, Tuesdays Age 9-12 at 5pm.

Mastering Fine Art for Teens. Students will have a great start strengthening their skills in drawing and painting!  We will look to the masters of art in our chosen topic, see instructor demos, and practice personal work in figure drawing, still life and landscape. Various materials like charcoal, pencil, watercolors and acrylic give students experience in many fields providing a rich background in which they can grow as artists. Portfolio developing is a part of the program for those who are interested.  Offered: Thursdays at 6pm.

Academic Drawing Studies for Teens and Adults with Vlad Yeliseyev, nationally recognized award winning artist. This individualized program is designed for serious students with a strong focus on classical principles of drawing, and includes intensive practice and theory.

What other parents say about us?

This is great school for young children, the teachers are wonderful. My daughter has been enjoying their art classes. They teach children from basics to elaborate piece of art. I was surprised about what young children can draw after they have been taught and had experiences with various types of paintings. The teacher my daughter had was also very creative in letting young children seek their creativity as well as getting formal teaching in drawing such as still life paintings. Also, the school is very organized. Overall, I recommend it to any parents who are interested in getting young children involved in art. – Yuri Saito

The most amazing and professional school for the kids! I’ve searched all over the artistic community of Sarasota to find a place that would teach my kid the art techniques (not just creativity, but the next level) and I found it in my back yard! – Marina Sommers

Our daughter Maddy is now taking one of these art class, and it is fantastic.  Vladislav incorporates fundamental classical art theory with these lessons, so these are much more than craft classes. – Michelle Cooper
